Starting with the neck

So this is the basic idea I have right now- take a watch (lacking the actual watch parts) and put a crystal where the face (of the watch) used to be. Below are some pictures of this concept using a random chunk I had just lying around- but in the final I want to use some crystals with shorter 'spikes'- so as to not impale myself upon them.

Day of interests and interviews

Mrs. Snowman (my physics teacher) was kind enough to model her outfit for me. The main reason I was interested in this piece (other than the fact that it looks really cool) is the swath of cloth that had holes in it- giving it an appearance that was not unlike that of perforated metal.

Shop front of Sew Green

Autumn- right before I started to interview her. She was nice enough to let me into the Sew Green Apprentice program (something that I will actually really need, as I am finding out).

in search of molding

Looking for mold making materials (preferably silicon)
The Versa-Tool is basically a heat pen, which I thought was rather a cool concept, but not sure if I could ever use it- but I decided to take a picture of it anyway.

Section of commercialized steampunk charms. I've had people rant to me about how horrible this is- but I don't think it's that bad- just rather interesting- and a source of inspiration.

The Clay section! This is why I come to these stores, I have a lot of Sculpy3 that I use to make different things (and will use during this project). This is also the section you can find molding materials.

(Above) my four possible choices.
(Bellow) The two main choices.

Going to this

Thrift Shops

This is a compilation of three different days of just stopping in, and looking at stuffs- taking pictures/recording what I really liked or felt maybe could be used in my project.

This watch was $15- too expensive for me to try and alter it- and it's a really nice watch. (Plus it was gone the time I actually had money with me)

The boots bellow really seemed to fit with my style- but they were size 6 1/2- I'm anywhere from a size 8 1/2 to a size 10 in mens shoes- there is no way I'm fitting in these.

Looking at shorts- that could possibly be included?

Belt!

Apparently these goggles date to the 1940's- and the look relatively simple, something I sometimes fail to remember is okay to have in a design.

B

These are some designs that Brendan drew up after having a brainstorming conversation with me, about an outfit I could make for him. Out of the four steampunk sub-styles, Brendan goes more for the street urchin look. Something that I'm not really that into, but I can see really fitting him. The main point of contention between us is the fact that I go and try and complicate everything more than it needs to be.

stuffs!

Look at all the stuff I've got to turn into jewelry! Now to actually turn it into jewelry.....

Ripping out seams.... While watching a movie. (which makes it slightly better.)
